School of Choice

Fill out all pages of the Schools of Choice form, including the Discipline Request that will be sent to your student's current school.

You can turn Schools of Choice forms in to the following 3 school offices:

  • Almont Middle School (see Middle School page for office hours)
  • Almont High School (see High School page for office hours)
  • Almont Community Schools Central Office (office hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm)

6th Grade thru 12th Grade Application

Application Periods:
We have CLOSED 1st through 4th Grade and are limiting enrollment in other grades for School of Choice.

  • Grades 6-12 beginning on May 1, 2024 ending on August 29th, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.  
  • *NOW CLOSED* Young 5, Kindergarten, and 5th Grade ONLY beginning on May 15, 2024 and ending on June 7, 2024 at 3:00 pm. 

This is a limited window without exception (for Young 5, K,and 5th grades only)

All applications need to be turned in as follows: 

June 10th – August 5th at Central Office (Summer Hours 8:00am-2:00pm Monday- Thursday)

August 6th-29th at the buildings or Central Office (located in the High School- Door 28) 

Make sure to COMPLETELY fill out the SOC application as well as the Discipline Record Request, this is part of the SOC application. If your student is Y5 or K you may write NA on the Discipline Record Request.  If you are mailing or faxing your request, it is up to you to make sure it was received in a timely manner at the building you sent it to.


We have CLOSED 1st through 4th Grade and are limiting enrollment in other grades for School of Choice.

Limited SOC spots are due to overcrowding in our buildings and our commitment to keep class sizes within the Board recommended ranges.  

Priority will be given to students who reside in the same household as students enrolled under section 105 or 105c in the immediately preceding school year, semester or trimester. 

Other students will be selected according to a random draw system, which will also be used to establish a waiting list. This random draw will take place on Wednesday, June 12th. You will be notified of the status of your application by the end of day June 13th.


Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, we started picking up Dryden and Capac Schools of Choice students at group stops. Please check with the Transportation Department for your nearest stop. Contact information can be found on the Transportation Department page.
