Schools of Choice Application Period is Open

Winter 2025/2026 Schools of Choice

All applications must be turned in as follows:

No earlier than January 5, 2026
No later than 3:00pm on January 16, 2026
Submitted to a school main office or Central Office

Be sure to completely fill out the Schools of Choice Application as well as the Discipline Record Request (this is part of the Schools of Choice Application). If your student is in Young 5s or Kindergarten, you may write NA on the Discipline Record Request.

If you are mailing your request, it is your responsibility to ensure it is received in a timely manner at the building you sent it to.

Important

Not all grades are open to Schools of Choice enrollment. Please reference the table below.

Due to overcrowding in our buildings and our commitment to keep class sizes within the Board-recommended ranges, some grades will have limited enrollment for Schools of Choice students. Priority will be given to students who reside in the same household as students enrolled under section 105 or 105c in the immediately preceding school year, semester, or trimester. If necessary, students will be selected according to a random draw system, which will also be used to establish a waiting list.

Transportation

Beginning in the 2014/2015 school year, we started picking up Dryden and Capac Schools of Choice students at group stops. Please check with the Transportation Department for your nearest stop. Contact information can be found on the Transportation Department page.
